Do you want to serve your community but don’t know how to get involved?
Joining one of our Township Boards, Emergency Management Agency, or Volunteer Fire Department is a meaningful way to make a direct impact on the future of North Whitehall. Volunteering allows you to lend your voice, experience, and vision to key areas that shape our local quality of life and public safety:

  • Parks and Recreation: Help plan community events, enhance local parks, and develop recreational programs for residents of all ages.

  • Planning Commission: Shape the physical development of our township by reviewing land use proposals, comprehensive plans, and long-term community growth.

  • Zoning Hearing Board: Help maintain community standards by hearing property appeals, variance requests, and special exception applications.

  • Building Codes Board of Appeals: Review technical appeals regarding building construction codes and safety standards to ensure safe, responsible development.

  • Vacancy Board: Step in during crucial moments to help appoint municipal officials and ensure continuity in township governance.

  • Ironton Rail Trail: Work to maintain, promote, and expand one of our area’s most cherished recreational trails and outdoor greenways.

  • Farmland & Open Space Preservation: Protect North Whitehall’s rich heritage, local landmarks, and natural landscape for future generations.

  • Emergency Management Agency (EMA): Help prepare for, respond to, and assist the community during critical emergencies, natural disasters, and large-scale township events.

  • Volunteer Fire Department: Protect lives and property by providing frontline emergency response, fire suppression, rescue operations, and community safety education.

Whether your interest lies in public safety, environmental stewardship, community planning, preservation, public safety, or recreation, there is a place for you to make a difference.
