North Whitehall Township is proudly served by four local volunteer fire companies: Laurys Station Volunteer Fire Company, Neffs Volunteer Fire Company, Schnecksville Volunteer Fire Company, and Tri-Clover Volunteer Fire Company.

Together, a 100% volunteer force protects over 16,000 residents across 28 square miles. These dedicated community members undergo rigorous training, professional certifications, and perform routine equipment maintenance to respond to local emergencies 24/7.

While the Township provides financial assistance, our departments rely heavily on state grants resident contributions and fund raising events. They are always seeking new volunteers for emergency response and operational support.
If you are looking to serve as a responder with the fire companies,  they provide free training, free firefighting equipment, and an annual stipend program. If you are interested in serving your community, please contact the individual departments directly or visit their respective websites.

The North Whitehall Township Emergency Management Agency is under the authority of the Board of Supervisors and supervised by the Township Manager and administrative staff. The Emergency Management team develops and maintains comprehensive disaster preparedness protocols, centralized in the Township’s Emergency Operations Plan, to facilitate seamless coordination with local, county, state, and federal agencies during incidents ranging from hazardous material spills to natural disasters. During a declared emergency, the Board of Supervisors maintains ultimate decision-making authority, while our volunteer emergency management team, township staff, and first responders operate the Emergency Operations Center to effectively manage and allocate community resources. Protecting the health, safety, and welfare of our residents remains our highest priority, which we achieve through ongoing planning, public education, and support for the Township’s entire emergency responder community.

North Whitehall Township has a coordinated group of volunteers who provide, at the township level, coordinated emergency management services governed by PA Title 35, the Emergency Management Services Code. The group is tightly coupled to the Lehigh County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).  This is a group of local citizen volunteers trained by emergency services to help their neighbors and support professional first responders during disasters.

Emergency management is available to answer questions or concerns by email at ema@northwhitehall.org.
