An ordinance is a local law or rule that is enacted
by the local government. Although the method of enacting an
ordinance will vary from municipality to municipality, they
are generally passed and signed by the legislative body, the
Board of Supervisors.
An ordinance is enacted to define and
regulate conduct which is detrimental to the public health,
welfare, peace, zoning, building, and safety matters of the
municipality.
The Board of Supervisors enacted the following
ordinances this past year:
Ord. 2008-01 -
Mandates that every resident secure a trash hauler. An ordinance
for the regulation and control of solid waste disposal; defining
certain terms; providing for regulations, exceptions, enforcement
orders, responsibility of owners and operators, penalties,
unlawful conduct, public nuisances, and validity.
Ord. 2008-02 -
Established the regulations and restrictions for air pollution
and bans open burning in the Township. What is not allowed:
no burn barrels, no open burning of any household materials
or yard waste. What is allowed: ceremonial fires, chimineas,
agricultural burning, fires set for fire fighting training.
This ordinance supercedes Ord. 2007-14 and became effective
November 1, 2008.
Ord. 2008-03 -
An ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance to add the definition
of requirements for and the installation and use of wind generators
as an accessory use in all districts.
Ord. 2008-04 -
An ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance to add the definition
of requirements for controlling nuisances and hazards to public
safety during the use of ATV's, Dirt Bikes and snowmobiles.
