We had
the ultimate challenge in 2007, with 275 seniors attending North
Whitehall Township's "Senior Day". There was no denying that these
Seniors came to play bean bags, horseshoes, throw football and
baseball, putt golf, and have fun with the ring, tire, and washer
toss games. We had 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
place medal winners, a terrific lunch, and then in the afternoon,
played bingo for some awesome prizes.
All local
area Senior residents and their families in the Parkland School
District are invited to attend. Local businesses made this a "free
day" for Seniors with all their support and contributions.
As we continue
our 2008 event, our major emphasis is on friendly competition,
relaxed environment, delicious food, wholesome spirit, and community
involvement. Walking around and watching the "young-at-heart"
laughing and having fun while they were playing games, made us
feel like we did our job. We also had some serious competitors
out there who were looking for their first place medals. As the
seniors were leaving, they told us encouraging words, "we'll see
you next year".
Well guess what, next year is "here" already!!
